My first book was an amazing rush that happened almost all by itself.
Book two has been harder. It details the earlier lives of two of the 1st's supporting characters, and answers a great deal of questions about them--including how Madeline's world as she comes to know it is created by them.
But it's been hard.
Though it still ends brightly (in fact, I like the ending even more than the 1st one), the story of Sydney McBride and Gina Teldrickt is much, much darker. It's forced me to look at some things I've been trying to ignore for most of my life, and probably would have rather left alone--like the loss of one's birth parents. But, like the 1st one, it feels like a story that just demands to be told, and won't let me rest until I have.
That said, now that the 1st draft is done, it's time for a forced hiatus. Habit 7 says take time to Sharpen the Saw, so I'm going to do just that this summer. Time to beat my previous distance records in running, get back to drawing stuff, and generally chillax. Read some books and play some Smash. Soon as I get some MP charged back up, I'll try to post some new stuff.
Thank you all for simply existing. May the creative pursuit rock ever onward!
YOU GAVE ME A SUB????!!!

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. - Helen Keller
